Description

Johns Hopkins Glacier is located in Glacier Bay National Monument, heads on E slope of Lituya Mtn. and trends W to head of Johns Hopkins Inlet, 1 mi. SW of the terminus of Clark Glacier and 79 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Elias Mts.

History

Named in 1893 by H. F. Reid (1896, p. 423) for the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., chartered in 1869 and opened in 1876.
