Description
Maquinna Cove is located in Glacier Bay National Monument, on Muir Inlet, 0.5 mi. N of Point George and 57 mi. NW of Hoonah, St. Lias Mts.
History
Named by members of the American Geographical Society's Glacier Bay Expedition of 1941 (Field, 1947, map) for the Steamship (SS) Princess Maquinna, which anchored there on an excursion of the Twelfth International Geological Congress in 1913.
