Mount Gannett is located at head of Gannett Glacier, 57 mi. E of Anchorage, Chugach Mts.
History
Named by Lawrence Martin in 1911 for Henry Gannett, 1846-1914,. Mr. Gannett was a president of the National Geographic Society, Chief Geographer of U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and Chairman of the Board on Geographic Names.
