Description

Bremner River is located heads at junction of its North and Middle Forks, and flows SW to Copper River, 45 mi. N of Katalla, Chugach Mts. 40 miles long.

History

Named in 1885 by Lieutenant H. T. Allen (1887, p. 44,45), USA, for John Bremner, prospector who ascended the Copper River, in 1884, as far as Taral and wintered there. See John River. Lieutenant Allen also gave the Indian name as "Tetahena," which means "flowing river."
