Description
Contact Glacier is located on E side of Kenai Peninsula, heads in Sargent Ice Field, trends N to its terminus, 1 mi. SW of Head of Deep Water Bay, 22 mi. SE of Whittier, Chugach Mts. 2 miles long.
History
Named in 1910 by U.S. Grant, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), "because it covers contact between granite and sediments."
