Description

Located in southeastern Nebraska, about 77 km 948 mi) southwest of Omaha; County Seat: Lincoln.

History

Named for the community of Lancaster and the county of the same name in Pennsylvania which were in turn named for Lancaster County, England. Lancaster County, Nebraska was established on 6 March 1855 and reestablished on 26 January 1856. (NE-T18/p90)
