Capital of State of Nebraska, located in central Lancaster County in the southeastern portion of Nebraska.
History
Named for Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), 16th President of the United States from 1861-1865. Founded in 1856 and incorporated in 1869. Became the state capital in 1867.
