Description
Located in the southwestern portion of Missouri.
History
Organized on 12 December 1855 and named for David Barton, who was elected along with Thomas Hart Benton, as one of Missouri's first two United States Senators on 2 October 1820. He served until 1830. (MO-T108/p12)
