Description
Heads at the SW end of Butterball Lake, flows W 1.4 km (0.9 mi) to Little Butterball Lake then N 0.3 km (0.2 mi) into the Saint Louis River, 3.2 km (2 mi) E of Skibo Mill.
History
"butterball" is a nickname for the Bufflehead Duck which migrates through and nests in this area.
