Description
Located in the Verde River between Beaver Creek Ranger District (Coconino NF) and Verde Ranger District (Prescott NF), 0.6 km (0.4 mi) S of the junction of Gap Creek and the Verde River.
History
The name Bushman Rapid refers to the fact that trees, which have since been cut down, were once dangerously overhanging the river at this point. The term "bushman" comes from the Brer Rabbit stories that tell of getting caught in a tree or "bushman".
