Mount Hurst is located on W slope of Kuskokwim Mts., 15 mi. NW of Ophir and 46 mi. NW of McGrath, Kilbuck-Kuskokwim Mts.

Prospectors' name obtained in 1908 by Maddren (1910, pl. 1), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
