Description
Quail Creek is located flows SE to Troublesome Creek, 16 mi. SE of Rampart, Yukon-Tanana High.
History
Named by prospectors in 1898; reported in 1904 by L. M. Prindle and F. L. Hess, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). "It is said that it was desired to call the stream 'Ptarmigan Creek,' but as no one in the party could spell ptarmigan it was named 'Quail,' the spelling of which was easier." (Prindle and Hess, 1908, p. 96).
