Description
Whirlpool Island is located formed by Whirlpool Slough and Yukon River, 8 mi. SW of Beaver , Yukon Flats.
History
Locally named for the whirlpool on the west side of the island at the m of Whirlpool Slough; reported in 1956 by T. E. Taylor, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
