Description
Tlegan River is located southernmost of five rivers on delta of Alsek River, flows S into Gulf of Alaska, 50 mi. SE of Yakutat; Malaspina Coastal Plain.

Tlingit Indian name reported by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 7), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "R(eka) Tlegan", or "Tlegan River." shown on recent maps.
