Description
Hatchet Point is located on E shore of Johnstone Passage, 1.7 mi. N of Puget Cove and 2.9 mi. NE of Yakutat, Malaspina Coastal Plain.
History
Called "M(ys) Topor," meaning "Hatchet Cape," by Captain Tebenkov (1852, map 7), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN).
