History
Named in 1914 by E. L. Jones, U.S. Bureau of Fisheries (USBF), for his wife Virginia Brent Fox Jones; "Mill Lake" was reported as a local name for this feature in 1905 by F. E. Wright and C. W. Wright (1908, fig. 22), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
