Description
Whitestone Rock is located in Neva Strait, on NW coast of Baranof I., 16 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
Local name given about 1880 and published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 156). The name is probably derived from Whitestone Narrows where the rock is located.
