Description
Pond Island is located in Kelp Bay, on NE coast of Baranof I., 23 mi. NE of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
Descriptive name given in 1895 by Lieutenant Commander Moore, 1SN, "because of two small ponds at the south end of the island." The name was published by US@C&GS in th 1901 Coast Pilot (p.160).
