Description
Bare Island is located in Port Krestof, off E coast of Kruzof I., 11 mi. NW of Sitka; Alex. Arch. 0.1 mile wide.
History
this is an 1882 translation by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) of the name given in 1809 by the Russian navigator Ivan Vasiliev the first; reported by Lieutenant Sarichev (1826, map 19) Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), as "O(strov) Goloy."
