Description
Smooth Channel is located extends SE along W coast of Chichagof I., from Ogden Passage to Khaz Bay, 4 mi. S of Chichagof, Alex. Arch.
History
Descriptive name given in 1908 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS); published in 1908 Coast Pilot (p. 172). "Smooth Channel, the best entrance to Odgen Passage, is protected from the ocean swell by a chain of wooded islands and ledges."
