Description
Island Point is located at W end of Peril Strait, on NW coast of Baranof I., 26 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
Descriptive name given in 1884 by Commander J. B. Coghlan, U.S. Navy (USN); published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1891 Coast Pilot (p. 182). "So called because of a small island at the end of the point."
