Located in Peril Strait, 2 miles north of Fish Bay on Baranof Island, 25 miles southeast of Chichagof; Alexander Archchipelago. (AK-T1)

Named in 1884 by Comander J B Coghlan, U.S. Navy (USN), probably for Liesnoi Island, a short distance to the north. U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1891 Coast Pilot (p182). (AK-T1)
