Gilmer Cove is located on NE coast of Partofshikof I., off NW coast of Baranof I., 20 mi. NW of Sitka, Alex. Arch. 0.1 mile wide.

Named in 1896 by Lieutenant Commander E. K. Moore, U.S. Navy (USN), for Ensign W. W. Gilmer, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party.
