History
Named in 1897 by Lieutenant Commander Moore, U.S. Navy (USN), for yeoman Harry L. Ford, a member of his party. The name was published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1901 Coast Pilot (p. 199).
