History
Spanish name given in 1775-79 by Don Juan de la Bodega y Quadra and Francisco Antonio Maurelle as "La Ratita," meaning "a short time?"; the name Larzatita is an alteration of Maurelle and Quadra's name (Wagner, 1937, p. 394).
