Coney Island is located at S end of Frederick Sound, 14 mi. SE of Petersburg, Alex. Arch. 0.3 mile long.

Named in 1887 by Lieutenant Commander C. M. Thomas, U.S. Navy (USN), for charting purposes; name published in 1888 on U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) chart 705.
