Description

Bush Top Island is located in Wrangell Narrows, 12 mi. S of Petersburg, Alex. Arch. 0.1 mile long.

History

Named in 1881 by Lieutenant Commander H. E. Nichols, U.S. Navy (USN). The navigator, G. Lindenberg, called it "Ostrov Golyy," meaning "bare island," and the name was published as such in 1850 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1441.
