Halfmoon Anchorage is located in Wrangell Narrows, on W coast of Mitkof I., 12 mi. S of Petersburg, Alex. Arch. 1.2 miles wide.

Feature was named by local traders; reported in 1868 by Commander R. W. Meade, U.S. Navy (USN).
