Description
Aston Island is located on NW coast of Long I., between Kaigani and Tlevak Straits, Alex. Arch. 0.8 mile long.
History
Named in 1881 by Lieutenant Commander Nichols, U.S. Navy (USN), for Ralph Aston, 1841-1904, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party. This island was called Wright Island by Sheldon Jackson (1880, map facing p. 376).
