Description
Boulder Point is located on N coast of Kupreanof I., at entrance to Portage Bay, 77 mi. E of Sitka, Alex. Arch.
History
So named in 1882 by Lieutenant Commander H. E. Nichols, U.S. Navy (USN), because the point "is fringed by large boulders"; published by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in the 1883 Coast Pilot (p. 125).
