Chichagof Bay is located on SE coast of Prince of Wales I., 0.6 mi. N of Polk I., Alex. Arch. 0.5 mile wide.
History
Name published in 1848 on Russian Hydrographic Dept. Chart 1396 as "Gavan Chichagova" or "Chichagof Harbor"; possibly given for Admiral Vasili Yakob Chichagof Who made explorations in the Arctic region in 1765-66.
