Description
De Long Peak is located at E end of Missionary Range, 13 mi. NW of Petersburg, on Lindenberg Peninsula, Kupreanof I., Alex Arch.
History
Named in 1887 by Lieutenant Commander C. M. Thomas, U.S. Navy (USN), for Lieutenant Commander George Washington DeLong, U.S. Navy (USN), commander of the steamer Jeanette, who died in 1881 in the Lena delta.
