Description
Patterson Glacier is located heads 5 mi. NE of Twin Peaks, Trends SW to head of Patterson River, 15 mi. NE of Petersburg, Coast Mts.
History
Named by W. H. Dall, U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS), in 1879, for Carlile P. Patterson, then Superintendent of U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS)(Orth, Donald J. Dictionary of Alaska Place Names. Washington, DC: GPO, 1967.).
