Cosmos Range is located trends E from Cosmos Peak on Thomas Bay, 110 mi. E of Sitka, Coast Mts. 4 miles long.
History
Named in 1887 by Lieutenant Commander C. M. Thomas, U.S. Navy (USN), for the steam launch Cosmos attached to the U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) steamer Patterson, which was under his command.
