Description
Meat Mountain is located near head of Colville River, 49 mi. NNE of Misheguk Mtn., Arctic Slope.
History
Named by the 1925 U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) exploring expedition, "derived from the Eskimo name, "Nikipak," which means meat" (Chapman and Sable, 1960, p.54).
