Description
Kogru River is located extends W 14 mi. off Harrison Bay; Arctic Plain.
History
Eskimo name recorded as "R. Kogru", on Commander Maguire's map (Great Britain, 1854, facing p. 186), Royal Navy (RN), and as "R. Kogruak" on John Simpson's map, of about the same time. Kugauraq means "a creek" and Kugruak means "old river." Maguire shows this stream as an outlet for Teshekpuk Lake.
