Description
Narwhal Island is located on Beaufort Sea coast, northern island of McClure Is., 38 mi. E of Beechey Point, Arctic Plain.
History
Named by Leffingwell (1919, p. 14, 97) after the whaleship Narwhal, on which he "returned to civilization in the fall of 1908, as the guest of Captain George Leavitt."
