Description
Prudhoe Bay is located betwee Heald Point and Point McIntyre, on Beaufort Sea Coast, 15 mi. SE of Ceechey Point; Arctic Plain. 9.6 miles wide.
History
so named by Franklin, Royal Navy (RN) (1828, p. 159) August 16, 1826. Leffingwell (1919, p. 98) writes, "Probably this bay includes 'Yarborough Inlet'," but Franlkin's nap does not indicate this.
