Description
Nome River is located heads 4.5 mi. W of Salmon Lake, flows S to Norton Sound, 4 mi. SE of Nome, Seward Peninsula High.
History
Prospectors' name derived from Cape Nome and reported in 1899 by D. C. Witherspoon (in Schrader and Brooks, 1900, map 2), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
