Description
Nome Mountains is located in group enclosed by Norton Sound, Bering Sea, Imuruk Basin, Pilgrim River, and Niukluk River, Seward Peninsula High.
History
Name used by Schrader and Brooks (1900, map 3), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), after a cursory investigation of the area in 1899. In 1900 this area was well surveyed and the name was omitted from subsequent maps.
