Description
6.5 mi NE of Vngyat Point and 0.6 mi SW of Upapak Point, on the W coast of Saint Lawrence Island, 11 mi. S of Gambell.
History
Eskimo name; recorded in 1965 by Orth as Okhsit, meaning animal resting place, and refers specifically to seals. The name appears to have been first recorded during the Bunnell-Geist Expedition of 1927, 1928, or 1929.
