Extends southwest 17 miles from Sarichef Island, at the mouth of Serpentine River, Kotzebue-Kobuk Lowlands.
History
Named "Isehmareff Bay" in 1816, by Lieutenant Otto von Kotzebue, (1821, p. 204), Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), for Captain Lieutenant Glieb Semenovich Shishmarev, Imperial Russian Navy (IRN), who accompanied him on his exploration.
