Description

Incomplete Record. Crescent-shaped, extending S from a point 1.5 mi S of Birchwood and trending SW, NW, and then N to a point 3 mi SW of Sevenmile Lake; it is interrupted by Knik Arm at Cairn Point, 3 mi N of Anchorage, Cook Inlet Low. 30 miles long.

History

So named in 1955 by Robert D. Miller, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), because the most conspicuous part of the moraine is located on Elmendorf Air Force Base.
