In the Alaska Range, extends NE-SW between Ruth Glacier and Tokositna Glacier, 26 mi. NW of Talkeetna, 27 mi SSE of Denali, Alaska Range
History
Reported to be an Indian word meaning "treeless" or "treeless area" and named in 1906, by the Cook-Parker Expedition after the Tokositna River (Browne, 1913, p. 54, 66).
