Description
Between Flat Lake and Big Lake, 10 mi. NW of Knik, 6.9 km (4.3 mi) W of the community of Big Lake, Chugach Mts.
History
Named for Lloyd Dean Nichols (?-1966) who had a land patent to a cabin site on this lake and who spent many summers fishing and water skiing in the area. 1976 Decision reaffirmed. A proposal to change the name Lloyds Pond to Root Beer Lake was submitted in October 1991; the USBGN rejected the proposal.
