Description

Between Flat Lake and Big Lake, 7.2 km (4.5 mi) W of the community of Big Lake, 22 mi. N of Anchorage, Cook Inlet Low.

History

Named in 1958 by Mrs. Margaret Almdale Spenard because "the former name 'Mud Lake' implies that the water is muddy, while it is clear and has a sandy, rocky bottom. 'Mirror Lake' would be more appropriate since the lake itself is small in size and reflects the trees surrounding the lake along the water's edge."
