Description
Des Moines Creek is located flows E to Wide Bay, W of Coal Point, on S coast of Alaska Peninsula, 42 mi. SE of Ugashik, Aleutian Range. 7.2 miles long.
History
Local name reported in 1923 by R. H. Sargent, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). S. R. Capps, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), reported in 1921; the name "Lee Creek", it was named for "a prospector who had a cabin at the stream's mouth."
