Description
Shearwater Bay is located off Kiliuda Bay, on SE coast of Kodiak I.
History
Descriptive name given by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) in 1904, "probably owing to the abundance of one or more of the many species of water-fowl to which the name i s applied." The name probably refers to the Slender-billed Shearwater, Puffinus tenuirostris.
