Description
Shakmanof Cove is located extends S between Kizhuyak and Shakmanof Points, 12 mi. NW of Kodiak, Kodiak I.
History
Name derived from Shakmanof Point and given in 1939 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS). This feature was called "Nutty Cove" in 1933 by U.S. Coast and Geodetic Survey (USC&GS) and "Womens Bay" by Capps (1937, p. 129), U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).
