Kempff Bay is located on W shore of Alitak Bay, at S end of Kodiak I.

Named in 1900 Lieutenant Commander J. F. Moser, U.S. Navy (USN), commander of the Albatross, for Ensign Clarence F. Kempff, U.S. Navy (USN), a member of his party.
